Students in Grade 1 are practicing to virtue of kindness. We read the story based on the golden rule called Do Unto Otters(click the book to read it online). In the story, the Rabbit has new otter neighbours. He is worried about how he will get along with them. Rabbit comes up with a list of things he would want the otters to do to him, and thus in turn, he has created of the ways he will behave with the otters!
Students were asked the same question the Rabbit had...
How would I like otters to treat me?
Here are a few ideas our class came up with
Please ask your child:
How do you want others to treat you?
Please review these expected choices with your children.
Look at our pumpkin! It has changed...what do you observe?
Students finished their pumpkin sketches to include labeling of some parts of the pumpkin. As scientists do, students made some wonders about the pumpkins. These wonders will guide our further exploration of the pumpkins. Read for them in our sketches!
