Today we read the story Why I Love Canada!
Children around Canada have written this story to share all the reasons why they love Canada - ask me what I remember from the story!

We also discussed that Canada's birthday is coming up! We watched this video that celebrates our beautiful country: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_E3ZD_Fo5E4

Students had an opportunity to sketch the new Canada 150 Logo. Wonder why it looks this way? Here is what we found online...
What does the logo represent?
The logo is composed of a series of diamonds, or “celebratory gems”, arranged in the shape of the iconic maple leaf. The four diamonds at the base represent the four original provinces that formed Confederation in 1867: Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Additional diamonds extend out from the base to create nine more points—in total representing the 13 provinces and territories.
Tomorrow is the last day of school! Please feel free to send a special snack with your child and wear Red and White to celebrate Canada's upcoming birthday. Tomorrow is also early dismissal!

Thank you for bringing in your games! Students engaged in some cooperative play with their peers. Most of the games involved some counting, subitizing, and strategizing! What a great way to strengthen the bonds and connections between out peers!
