Our class will be swimming starting on Monday. We will swim June 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, and 20. We will be leaving promptly after lunch and will arrive right before students are dismissed for the day. We will be swimming at the Thornhill Pool. Thank you for returning all of the swim ability and permission forms!
For swimming, please send your child with a plastic bag containing their belongings: a swimsuit and towel. If you wish to send goggles or caps, please do so at your discretion as we will not be responsible for lost or misplaced items. Please also feel free to send an extra snack for after swimming :)
AND A TOWEL! :)
Please also discuss with your child, the expectations for the bus ride to and from the pool, as well as appropriate behaviour for the change rooms and during the lessons. We're so excited to swim!!!
Wowzers we have little green thumbs! Our first round of planting didn't work out so well. For some reason, only 4 plants grew! Students had many ideas as to why they thought their plant didn't grow. Some thought we may have watered them too much, or not enough, or didn't put them in the sun long enough, or even soaked the seeds for too long! As true scientists do, we learned from our first experimentation and tried again! Our persistent scientists were very observant to notice that.....OUR PLANTS ARE GROWING!!!!!!!
We see roots!!!!!
We see the stem sprouting out of the soil!!!!
We see the leafs coming out of the seed food (and the seed coat falling off)!!!!
We are so happy that our plants are growing 😀 Can't wait to see them continue to grow!
Just like each of our students, our plants are growing at their own rate and pace. Some have many leaves, some are just sprouting, but we are all growing 'up' 💓
