Today students create their own set of number cards. We will be using these number cards to help us build our number sense. Today, students had to put numbers 1-20 in order.

Today we did some problem solving with Harvey the Hound from the Calgary Flames for Pink Shirt Day! Here are the scenarios we worked on. Please discuss them with your child and think of ways Harvey could solve the problem.

Thank you to students who brought their Social Studies projects in! Today we began our presentations. Today we heard from Karter. He interviewed his grandpa who speaks English and lives in Alberta. They celebrate Christmas and Easter. Karter has a family of aircraft experts! We were so interested in learning more about airplanes and how they work.

We also talked about other names we have for our grandpas: grandpa, papa, dadu, bapu, ahtah, coocoo, grandad, grand-père.

If you have not been able to support your child with this homework, please do so as soon as possible. We will continue with presentations all week!

We also read a story today called Shark Detective. Please ask your child what the following three words mean: detective, lonely, research

We have been working on our comprehension and used a strategy called 'sketch and stretch'. We read the story One, and then sketched what we remembered from the story. Here are pictures of our students hard at work!

Today is the last day for one of our students. She shared a reading that she has been practicing the last few weeks. We wish her all the best!

Dear Parents, 

we have had an unusual amount of students sick in our class! We have taken time to disinfect the entire classroom to ensure we stop the spread of germs. 

We also discussed how we can all stop the spread of germs by washing our hands! We talked about how to wash our hands and most importantly - WHEN to wash our hands! Here is a quick list to help...
