This morning we had the privilege of participating in an Aboriginal storytelling experience in the gym. Denise Miller from Swansong Storytelling presented a few traditional stories. Below is a clip of what we heard and saw.  Ask your child if they remember any of the animals in the story :)

Her stories inspired us to create our own version of a legend. Denise told us a story of how the beaver got a flat tail. In pairs, we thought of other ways the beaver could've got a flat tail! Here are parts of our oral stories.

How the Beaver Got a Flat Tail!
A giant tooth fell on it.
A giant rock fell on it.
A giant rock fell out of the waterfall and on to the beaver.
While chomping on some wood, beavers friend was rolling a log and he rolled the log right over his tail!
A steam roller went over his tail!
A boulder rolled right over his tail!
A rock rolled down the hill and over his tail!
A tree fell on his tail and made it flat!
An astroid fell on his tail!
A pumpkin fell on it!
A car drove over it!
And thats how the beaver got a flat tail!
