Scholastic Book Orders Due Tomorrow!
Today we practiced playing cooperative games in the classroom. Students were given no instructions and were asked to work together to play snakes and ladders. They had to decide as a group who went first and the rules of the games. We learned a few things about working in groups!
- It doesn't always matter who goes first.
- We need to think of a fair way to decide the order in which we play. We could play: who doesn't blink, rock paper scissors, black shoe, roll the dice to see who has the biggest number
- We need to use kind words and cheer each other on
- It doesn't matter who 'won' the game as long as we all had fun!
Playing snakes and ladders is a great way for students to practice subitizing using the dice and counting using a 100s chart.
We also practiced with shades and tints!
