Our curious students noticed something very interesting in our classroom....our carved pumpkin...has tiny FLIES! From a safe distance, we made some observations: the pumpkin looks soft, it smells werid, and the inside is turning black.
I wonder why our other pumpkins don't have flies...

We talked about the scientific word for breaking down: decomposing

 We decided that instead of watching our pumpkin decomposing in our classroom, we will watch it while it sits in the bushes in our field. We are looking forward to see what happens to it! 


Reminders
