Dear Parents, 

Please note that I spoke to the staff at the zoo and they explained that the fee for our trip goes towards the special program our students will be participating in, put on by the zoo staff. By participating in the program, students gain admission to the Calgary Zoo in the same cost. So unfortunately the fee we have requested will go towards paying the special program the students will take part in and annual Zoo passes cannot be used. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me at any time! 

We are excited to go to the zoo and explore the animals and learn about their habitats! If you have not returned the forms yet, please do so as soon as possible :)

On this beautiful spring day we went exploring for the shapes around us! Before we went outside, we joined Ms. Bakkan's class and watched a Brainpop video about 2D shapes. This helped us gear our brains around seeing shapes in every day things! We learned about some of the basic shapes and boy did we notice we have some smart students who already knew them all! Here are some of the shapes we discussed...

When we started our exploration outside, we quickly noticed shapes were all around us! Here are a few pictures of our journey and of the things we saw. As you view the pictures, please ask your child to identify some of the shapes they see.
