Vote for our school to win 50,000 for the playground!

Today is Student Led Conferences! Please join us at school during the 1 hour time slot you have signed up for. Below you will find the outline of how the day will go. If you have any questions, please feel free to talk to me!

1.     Writing – please ask your child to show you their bin. In this bin, you will find their green writing journal.  Please ask your child to share their most recent writing with you.
Q: What did you noticed about your child’s writing? How have they improved? What are they still working on?

2.   Reading – also in your child’s book bin, you will find a bag titled “Books I know!” These are books your child is learning how to read, or know how to read.
1.     Please ask your child to read one (or more) of the stories to you. (Please note: at this point in the year, students are expected to be reading level F/G books)
2.   Sight words – please ask your child to read the sight words. These are words they are working on or have mastered.
Q: What did you noticed about your child’s reading? How have they improved? What strategies are they still working on?

3. Math
1.     Solve the addition and subtraction problems together. Feel free to use any manipulatives you may need. Be sure to discuss what strategies your child could use to solve these problems. Review to the posted strategies and see what other strategies your child could use to solve the problems!
2.   Complete the matching 2D shapes game!
Q: What did you noticed about your child’s numeracy skills? How have they improved? What are they still working on?

4.   Bulletin boards/art displays – Ms. Bakkan and Mrs. Brar’s class completed a City Shapes art project together! Please visit the hallway to enjoy it.
Q: Please ask your child to point our some of the 2D shapes they see. Share your thoughts and feelings.
