Sorry for the missed blogs! We've been super busy!

Reminders
- Tomorrow is Red and Green Day and our Caroling assembly is at 1:00
- Friday is our last day and is a half day of school. Report cards will go home on Friday as well.

Yesterday we did our polar bear art project. We talked about how polar bears tolerate the winter and don't hibernate like black and brown bears.

When we began painting we talked about the horizon line. Horizontal lines go side to side, and the horizon line is where the land meets the sky. This line is very important when creating our artwork.

We also talked about textures. When we painted our ice, we put cling wrap on the wet paint to create the texture of ice.

When painting, we talked about how we did strokes side to side (horizontally) and we dabbed the paint on for our polar bears. We also used paper towel to soak up some paint, in the form of a circle, to represent our moon. We learned that when we soak up some paint, it makes it look lighter!

To complete our artwork, students had the choice of adding sparkles to represent the sparkling snow, snowflakes, or artificial snow either falling from the sky or on the ground.

Enjoy these pictures of us immersed in our art project!
